🗓️ General Black Friday Questions

Q: When does the Standard Beauty Black Friday Sale start and end?
A: Our Black Friday sale starts with Early Access in-app on 24 November, from the 25th the sale is live in all stores, website and app, and runs until 1 December 2025.

Q: Will all stores be participating?
A: Yes, all Standard Beauty stores — Sandton, HQ, La Lucia, Hemingways, and Baywest — will participate in the in-store promotions.

Q: Can I shop online as well as in-store?
A: Yes! You can shop both in-store and online. Online shoppers get exclusive early access through our app on 24 November before the website opens to everyone on 25 November.

Q: Will you have stock of everything for the sale?
We have worked hard to restock most items before the sale. However, since we produce everything locally, restocking takes time. Once something sells out, it will likely not be restocked during the sale. We suggest you click "notify me" on the item to get an alert when it's back!

Q: Can I use my Standard Beauty gift card or voucher during the Black Friday Sale?
A: Our regular codes (e.g Welcome) are disabled during sales. Some Standard Beauty gift cards and store vouchers will be valid (e.g a refund voucher); however, they cannot be combined with additional discount codes or promotional vouchers won during Black Friday.

Q: Are prices the same online and in-store?
A: Most offers are consistent across both platforms, but select promotions (like our in-store Golden Ticket or online Mystery Scoop) are exclusive to each channel.

🏬 In-Store Promotions

Golden Ticket Campaign

Q: How do I win a Golden Ticket prize?
A: Every day between 25 November and 1 December, a limited number of tickets are hidden inside select product boxes in-store. When you purchase an eligible product, you might find a winning voucher inside!

Q: What prizes can I win?
A: Prizes include free products, discount vouchers up to 100% off (max R3,000), and one MacBook per store as the grand prize.

Q: How will I know if my product has a ticket?
A: Each day’s products are pre-packed with hidden tickets. Staff will remind you to check your box after purchase.

Q: What if I open a box before purchasing?
A: To keep the game fair for everyone, boxes may not be opened before checkout. If a box is opened, it will be replaced immediately by staff.

Q: Can I exchange or transfer my winning voucher?
A: No, vouchers are valid only for the original purchaser and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash.

Q: When does my voucher expire?
A: All Golden Ticket vouchers must be redeemed before the end of the Black Friday sale (2 December 2025).

Q: How do I play?
A: Spend R450 or more in-store to receive one play token (maximum of four plays per customer).

Q: What can I win?
A: Prizes include limited edition body washes, beauty goodies, and other exclusive Standard Beauty items.

Q: Can I return or exchange my game prize?
A: No, game prizes cannot be exchanged or returned.

Q: Can I play more than once?
A: Yes, up to four times per day with valid qualifying purchases.


📱 Online Promotions

App Early Access

Q: What is App Early Access?
A: On 24 November, our app users get first access to all Black Friday deals before the website opens to the public.

Q: How can I access the app sale?
A: Simply download the Standard Beauty App, log in or create an account, and shop as normal.

Q: Why is the website locked on 24 November?
A: We’re rewarding our most loyal customers by giving app users early access - the website will reopen to everyone on 26 November.


Mystery Scoop

Q: What is the Mystery Scoop?
A: It’s our most exciting Black Friday event! Purchase a Mystery Scoop for R399, or get one free when you spend R2,500 or more. Each scoop is worth at least R650 - R700 (between 2-4 products depending on the product value) and contains a mix of products (minis, full size, home range, hair care, body and more!)

Q: How does the live scooping work?
A: Every day from 25 November to 2 December at 12:30 PM, we go live on Instagram and TikTok to scoop orders placed the day before.

Q: What can I win in the Mystery Scoop?
A: You could get a mix of products (minis, full size, home range, hair care, body and more!) and a chance to win a MacBook! Each scoop is worth at least R650 - R700 (between 2-4 products depending on the product value).

Q: How many scoops are available per day?
A: Only 70 scoops per day, restocked daily at 9AM. First come fist serve.

Q: Are the scoops random?
A: Yes, completely random.

Q: Can I return or exchange my Mystery Scoop?
A: No, due to the random nature of the game, all sales are final. No returns, refunds or exchanges will be accepted on mystery scoop items.

Q: What if I don't like the scoop I receive?
A: Because every scoop is unique and selected by chance, we’re unable to offer exchanges, refunds, or replacements if you don’t love what you receive. Part of the fun is the surprise - you might discover a new favourite product.

Q: How will I know if I won something special?
A: Winners will be announced during the live sessions. MacBook winner will be contacted privately. If you missed the live then you will be happily surprised when your order arrives. 

Q: What if my scoop was missed during the live?
A: We’re truly sorry if your Scoop was missed. Black Friday is an incredibly busy period, and although we do everything we can to scoop every order live and in order, human error can occasionally happen.

If your Scoop was missed, please email info@standard-beauty.co.za
 with your order number and the subject line “MISSED MYSTERY SCOOP”. Our team will prioritise your order and ensure your Scoop is done first thing in the next day’s live session.

Q: How do I win the MacBook?
A: People who get the PINK ball in their scoop will be entered into a separate lucky draw at the end of the sale, on 2nd December, where one shopper will be randomly picked to win a brand new MacBook!

Q: Will my delivery take longer than usual?
A: Yes, due to increased volume during Black Friday, please allow for possible delays.

Q: What are the Spend Threshold Rewards?

Q: Do I need to add the gift to my cart manually?
A: On the website, it should automatically appear at checkout when you qualify. On the app, you will need to add it manually. PLEASE check that your free items are in your cart before completing your order.

Q: Can I choose my free gift?
A: No, gifts are pre-selected and rotate based on availability.

Q: What happens if my chosen reward is out of stock?
A: If your reward item runs out, it will be replaced with another product.


🚚 Orders, Shipping, and Returns

Q: When will I receive my order?
A: Due to the high demand, orders may take slightly longer than usual. Typically between 5-8 business days. You’ll receive shipping updates via email or app notification.

Q: Can I cancel my order after placing it?
A: Orders placed during the Black Friday period cannot be cancelled once confirmed due to fast processing times.

I need to change my address?
A: Unfortunately, packaging slips are printed and sent to dispatch immediately – we can’t make changes once printed.

Q: Can I return or exchange Black Friday purchases?
A: Please see our returns and refunds policy.

Q: What if I receive a damaged or incorrect product?
A: Please contact our support team within 7 days of receiving your order, including photos of the product, packaging and the signed packing slip that came in your order.


💻 Technical and App Issues

Q: I can’t access the app or it’s not loading - what do I do?
A: Try closing and reopening the app, or check your internet connection. If the issue continues, uninstall and reinstall the app or contact our customer support team.


🧴 Product & Safety Questions

Q: Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
A: Yes! However, as always, we recommend patch testing before full use.

Q: Do products in the Mystery Scoop come with expiry dates?
A: Yes, all products are sealed and include valid expiry dates according to our quality control standards.

Q: Are your products cruelty-free and vegan?
A: Absolutely - all Standard Beauty products are cruelty-free and are vegan.
